Spring is in the air, and Easter is upon us! To celebrate, we’ve created an engaging critical thinking puzzle, The Bunny Egg Delivery Challenge, that should put your reasoning skills to the test. This puzzle is inspired by our Introduction to Critical Thinking and Reasoning course, which we offer in Manchester, Dorset, In-House, and Online. Let’s dive into the challenge!
The Challenge

Three bunnies, Bunny 1, Bunny 2, and Bunny 3 have been tasked with delivering Easter eggs to three houses: House A, House B, and House C. However, each bunny can only carry one egg at a time, and they must ensure that each house receives exactly one egg. However, there are a few additional rules they must follow:
- Bunny 1: can only deliver eggs to House A or House B.
- Bunny 2: can only deliver eggs after Bunny 1 has delivered his.
- Bunny 3: must deliver to a different house than Bunny 2.
The challenge is to figure out how the bunnies can successfully deliver the eggs to the correct houses without breaking any of the rules.
Solution
To solve this puzzle, we need to use critical thinking and reasoning skills. Let’s break it down step by step:
- Identify the constraints: Each bunny has specific houses they can deliver to, and there is a specific order in which they must deliver the eggs.
- Consider the possibilities: List out the possible deliveries for each bunny, considering the order of delivery and additional constraints.
- Eliminate conflicts: Ensure that no house receives more than one egg and that all rules are followed.
Here’s one possible solution:
- Bunny 1 delivers an egg to House B.
- Bunny 2 delivers an egg to House C.
- Bunny 3 delivers an egg to House A.
This way, all the rules are followed, and each house receives exactly one egg.
