How Pivotal Homes Built a 5-Year Fire Safety Training Partnership to Support Frontline Confidence

Pivotal Homes provides solutions for homelessness, supporting vulnerable adults in environments where safety matters every day. They wanted training that built on internal awareness, strengthened confidence and fitted around the realities of a busy frontline service.

Challenges

Pivotal Homes already had internal fire safety awareness in place, giving staff a foundation to build from. The next step was to strengthen that knowledge through practical, face-to-face Fire Marshal training. The team needed learning that helped staff discuss real scenarios, understand fire safety from different workplace perspectives and apply that knowledge back in their own environments. Staff needed to understand not only what to do, but why it mattered in the context of the people and environments they support.

“You can’t beat good old face-to-face training, discussing the whys and wherefores of fire safety.” – Lee Britton – Learning & Development Coordinator

Solutions

Pivotal Homes built a long-term relationship with Ouch Learning & Development, using Ouch for Fire Marshal training alongside other core courses including Emergency First Aid at Work and Mental Health First Aid. The relationship worked because the training was practical, the booking process was easy to manage and the support felt personal. For Pivotal Homes, the value of the training was in how well it connected to real frontline situations. The welcoming environment, discussion-based delivery and practical activities helped delegates feel relaxed, engaged and able to take learning back into their own roles.
